MANAGEMENT TEAMIsabel Hoffmann Miles, Ph. D., Managing Director is a winner of Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year Award (1996), winner of the Financial Post's Best 40 under 40 Award (1997), and Canada's National iWAY Award presented by CANARIE Inc. (1999). Dr Hoffmann Miles has founded eight companies in the past 19 years, in the fields of health care, Internet medical continuing education, entertainment and software. She has negotiated strategic investments with groups such as CBC Networks, Mitsubishi International, and Global Television Canada. She is a shareholder and co-founder of Vibrance Medical Group, a Beverly Hills anti-aging clinic. Manuel Diamantino Pires Bicho, Ph.D., M.D., Medical Director was born in Mozambique and graduated from the School of Medicine at the University of Lisbon (MD) in 1975. Dr Bicho also holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Physiology granted by the same university in 1985. He was appointed as an Associate Professor in 1990 and as a Full Professor of Genetics in 2004 at then School of Medicine at University of Lisbon. He was also appointed Director of Genetics Laboratory in 1995, and Scientific Secretary and Coordinator of Centre of Endocrinology and Metabolism in 2002. During the period between 1999 and 2000 he was a Visiting Associate Professor of Harvard Medical School, Boston MA, USA in the Department of Medicine (Endocrine Hypertension Division) of the affiliated Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He is a fellow of American Heart Association. Dr Bicho Scientific interests are Molecular and Biochemical Genetics of Cardiovascular Diseases and Cancer. He has published over 300 articles in scientific journals and in international publications. Sonia Guedes de Melo, M.Sc., Biochemist, Pharmacogenetic Scientist has a degree in Biochemistry from the University of Porto and is currently working on her PhD in Basic and Applied Biology (GABBA). She has co-research and co-published several articles related to cancer and Parkinson disease. She took several post graduate courses including Cell Signaling, Molecular biology, Nervous and Immune System. She has also been a tutor and a teaching assistant in Chemistry, Biology and Psychology. Sonia is a member of the Portuguese Society of Biochemistry and her professional interests are the human epigenome and neurodegenerative diseases. Cristina Casaseca-Aliste, M.D., Medical Consultant is a general practitioner and a graduate of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Salamanca’s Medical School in 2000. Prior to joining GenoSolutions, Cristina worked for Corporación Dermoestética in Portugal and Spain for 3 years, where she was responsible for several aesthetic treatments including Laser Érbio-yag, Laser Neodimio-yag, Medical Photo Depilation, Medical Photo Rejunevation, Mesotherapy, Nutritional Consulting and Botulium Toxin A. From 2005 to 2006 she was the Medical Director for Dermo Estetica Clinica Premium, heading a group of ten doctors. In 2004 she was the medical responsible for the aesthetical area at the Clínica Endocrinológica, Endoclin, in Lisbon. In 1997, she did an internship at the Eramus Program at the University of Torino, Italy, where she worked in surgery, endocrinology and orthopedic treatments for one year. She has presented in several medical congresses. Ricardo Dinis-Oliveira, Pharm D., Pharmacy Doctor, Pharmacology and Toxicologist Scientist has an academic degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from University of Porto and he is at the present time working on the Ph. D. in the Toxicology and Pharmacology research areas. He has several published papers in international scientific journals with referees, papers in conference proceedings, participations in research projects, oral communications by invitation and international patents related to the treatment of paraquat and several other xenobiotic intoxications by induction of de novo synthesis of the transmenbrane P-glycoprotein transporter. Ricardo is a member of the Portuguese Pharmaceutical Society, Portuguese Society of Pharmacology, Portuguese Society of Pneumology and of the European Society of Toxicology. His scientific interests are the treatment of human xenobiotic poisonings and the variations in the DNA sequences (genetic polymorphisms) that alter the expression and function of proteins, which influence the pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic and the pathophysiological processes of the drug response. Shirley Elzinga holds a Registered Professional Nurse, a Certified Nurse Anesthetist Degree, a B.A. in Humanities, a B.S. in Biology, and she is a Doctor of Chiropractic, and a Licensed Acupuncturist of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Dr Elzinga practices in Beverly Hills, Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Exercise Programs, Physical Therapy, Nutrition, Aslan's Therapies (PC3) and Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). She is part owner of Lowen's Compounding Pharmacy in Brooklyn, New York and lectures frequently to doctors on HRT. She has served on numerous professional boards and has won many awards for her hard work and dedication, including The Botterman Award, New Doctor of the Year, and Outstanding Doctor of the Year Award. |
